Riverside Theatre in Vero Beach, FL is a regionally producing theatre affiliated with Actor's Equity Association, The League of Resident Theatres, Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, and United Scenic Artists. Riverside Children's Theatre, the educational arm of Riverside, offers classes, camps, and training opportunities in the areas of theatre, dance, music, and video for all ages on a year round basis.

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Stitcher

DATES NEEDED & WAGES: The Stitcher positions are for the following dates:
3/15/23 - 4/9/23 for 42nd Street.
12/9/22 - 12/30/22 for Man of La Mancha
The pay is $500 per week and no housing is provided

REPORTS TO:  Costume Shop Manager & Production Manager

JOB TYPE:  Full time Seasonal with hours worked as needed to meet production goals. Based on the production calendar must be able to work irregular hours, evening hours, long hours and weekend shifts.

DESCRIPTION: Stitchers are responsible for the implementation, Creation, and alterations of all costume designs for all productions and events at Riverside Theatre.  

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Maintain positive attitude, possess strong leadership skills, high level of organizational, communication, problem solving skills and ability to work well in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines.

  • Previous experience in academic or professional costume settings.

  • Prior sewing experience a must.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Uphold the Core Values of Riverside Theatre.

  • Assist Costume Shop Manager and Assistant Costume Shop Manager with all necessary responsibilities as assigned.

  • Assist with any alterations as assigned by Costume Shop Manager.

  • Work with stage management to locate and provide all rehearsal costume pieces and accessories, including shoes, skirts, hats, etc.

  • Assist the Costume Shop Manager with assignment of duties to costume shop/volunteer staff.

  • Advise Production Manager of any safety concerns and remediation.
